audition invitation
Young performers are invited to audition for Ugly Seasonal Sweater Soiree, an original scripted musical comedy CO-WRITTEN BY KAITLYN RUDEEN AND BILLY MCGUIGAN. Directed by kaitlyn rudeen.

McGuigan Arts Academy at Countryside Village
In-person auditions only. Auditions will be held in groups.
Video submissions will not be considered.
Audition appointments are required by emailing kate@billymcguigan.com.
Performers interested in auditioning should prepare a song and monologue from the show. Performers can sing either JINGLE BELL ROCK or RUDOLPH THE RED NOSED REINDEER. Our music director will accompany them on the piano. Performers are also asked to prepare one of three monologues from the show. Click on the monologue of your choice below to access and print. This is a paid performance opportunity.
ABOUT REHEARSALS & PERFORMANCES
Rehearsals and performances will take place at the McGuigan Arts Academy Studio. Click here to see the full rehearsal schedule. Please bring any conflicts that your student may have to the auditions. Conflicts are taken into consideration during the casting process.
Performances will be December 19 & 20 at 7:30pm and December 21 at 2:00pm.
Tickets will be on sale in November.
ABOUT THE SHOW
Ugly Seasonal Sweater Soiree is a hilariously cheeky, award-nominated musical featuring a cast of young performers. This original production takes a playful look at the quirks of our favorite December traditions, from the mystery of “Mommy kissing Santa Claus” to the ongoing debate about Die Hard as a Christmas movie. With festive tunes, witty commentary, and plenty of cringe-worthy holiday fashion, the Ugly Seasonal Sweater Soiree is a celebration of all things merry and bright - turns out, it’s not all fun and reindeer games!
